CEO of Storage, Big Storage Ventures
Kallan Webster is the CEO of Storage at Big Storage Ventures. He helps guide the company’s growth across the self-storage industry. Originally from Santa Clara, Utah, Kallan brings five years of industry experience. Today, he combines financial discipline with a people-first approach.
From the Moving Crew to Executive Leadership
Kallan’s career began with Big Ben’s Moving & Storage while he was in college. At the time, the company operated with one truck and trailer. He started with hands-on work as a mover. Soon, that experience sparked a passion for business, operations, and hard work.
As a result, Kallan learned how to serve customers well and support a team. He also saw how clear systems can help a company grow. However, he believes growth should never replace personal service.
Accounting and Financial Expertise
After college, Kallan earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He also completed a master’s degree in accounting. In addition, he earned and maintains his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
Next, Kallan gained valuable experience in the accounting department at Enterprise Mobility. It is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Later, he joined Holbrook Asphalt and worked across several companies.
There, Kallan helped manage the finances of a self-storage facility through a successful value-add exit. Consequently, he strengthened his skills in analysis, operations, tax strategy, and real estate value creation.
Growing Big Storage Ventures
As Big Storage Ventures expanded, Kallan partnered with Ben Gottfredson. Together, they helped build the company’s storage platform. Since then, Kallan has supported the acquisition and management of more than a dozen facilities.
Those facilities represent about $70 million in assets under management. They also total nearly 700,000 square feet. Moreover, Kallan specializes in tax strategy and planning. He helps partners use real estate and self-storage strategies to pursue long-term wealth and stronger cash flow.
People, Process, and Disciplined Execution
For Kallan, lasting success in self-storage depends on three fundamentals: people, process, and disciplined execution. First, a world-class team must understand each customer’s needs. Next, strong systems and financial strategy must support that service. Ultimately, profits follow when a company cares for its customers, partners, and employees.
Above all, Kallan wants growth to create meaningful opportunities. Therefore, he focuses on financial freedom for employees, investment partners, and their families.
Family and Life Outside of Work
Kallan, 31, and his wife, Madi, are approaching ten years of marriage. Together, they have three children: Boston, Evie, and Emme. Outside of work, Kallan enjoys time with family and friends. He also likes sports, movies, the gym, mountain biking, and hiking.
